1. What happens on the day? (CBT Only)

Be here in plenty of time. Remember, there will be other pupils attending the same course as you. We cannot shorten their day, because you are late. Make sure you bring both parts of your licence. You will be required to pass an eyesight test, so make sure you can read a car registration plate at a distance of 20.5 metres.

If bringing your car, parking is not provided but there is off-site parking locally.

Our start time is 8:30am and we usually break for lunch between 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm. You can bring something with you, or we are within a short walk from food outlets.

2. How do I book?

3. Do I need to sit a Theory Test?

You do not need to do a theory test to sit the CBT. If you intend to gain a full motorcycle licence, you must sit a Motorcycle Theory Test. Register your interest in booking your theory by completing an enquiry form via the contact us page.

4. What clothing would I need to wear?

Dress sensibly, with warm clothing and sturdy footwear. All safety equipment is provided. Feel free to use your own equipment if you would prefer.

5. What bikes do you use?

We supply suitable motorcycles depending on which type of training you attend. All motorcycles have a power ratio of no more than 17kw.

6. What are your opening hours?

We are open weekdays between the hours of 9am – 7pm and weekends 9am – 4pm.

7. Is the CBT a test?

No, the CBT is purely an assessment day - there is no pass or fail, it is a continued assessment throughout the day.

8. Will courses get cancelled due to bad weather?

Courses will only be cancelled if conditions are unsafe. You will be contacted on the morning if we need to reschedule.

9. Do I need to do another CBT to move from automatic to geared machines?

No, as long as the CBT is in force there is no need, but we do recommend that people upgrading or moving to geared machines have further training.

10. What is the ratio of instructors to students?

Maximum two students to one instructor during the on road training.

11. Do I need a licence?

Yes, you need a licence with provisional entitlement for “P” moped, or “A” motorcycle, which you can apply for.

12. How long does a CBT certificate last?

At present CBT is valid for two years.

13. How long does the training take?

Very difficult to give exact time frame, as everybody learns at a different rate, but on average somebody with some motorcycle experience and road sense; 12 – 15 hours post CBT training is usually sufficient..
